The creek runs right beside our campsite.  It is beautiful and the kids have fun tubing.  The adults tube as well but somehow don't seem to have quite as much fun.

Pete and Kathy have a cottage not far from where we camp and had us over for a wonderful bar-b-que.

Deep Creek Campground in the Great Smokey Mountains

We spent a week here in 05 and will return there in July 06.  While there, we will hike in a couple of miles and clean up the backwoods campsites.  This will be our service project.  We will also have an educational program presented  by the Rangers.

While we all have fun, everyone does pitch in and help.

White water rafting is always one of our highlights.

The trip up to Klingman's dome was fun and if the weather had been clear that day, I'm told we could have seen 4 States.

Some of us got to go to the "road to nowhere" it is some government project that stalled when only partially done.  It dead ends with a tunnel and the forest on the other side.

The trip to Cades Cove was long but fun.  We saw some wonderful old settlements and hoped to see bear but all we really saw were lots of deer.

All in all, we had a great time in the Great Smokeys and can't wait to go back.  For those that work on the service projects throughout the year and participate in our fundraisers, the cost is usually about $100.00 for the entire week.  INCLUDING FOOD
